  • Open House & Shows - Model Railroad Club of Toronto

    Model Railroad Club of Toronto Annual Open House & Shows:  Great Family Entertainment 

    Dates: Sunday February 12, 19 and 26, and Monday February 20 (Family Day)
    Hours:  12 noon - 4:30pm
    Admission:  Adults $8 - Children $4 - Seniors $5 (cash only)
    Not wheelchair or handicap accessible.

    Visit this annual open house to experience a model railroad recreation of the Central Ontario Railway of the 1950’s, complete with trains, cities, towns, lakes and rivers.  North America’s largest permanent model railroad display is located in Liberty Village, in the lower level of the Liberty Market Building, in space that was long ago used as a Bren Gun firing range.  The Model Railroad Club of Toronto moved to this Liberty Village location from a Union Station site in 1946.  The Club has been here for more than 65 years!  It’s time that you checked out this hidden treasure.    

    The Model Railroad Club of Toronto meets monthly on the first Wednesday, and new Club members are always welcome. Also, the Club facilities can be rented for unique corporate events or birthday parties.

  • Ultimate Frisbee Wednesday’s

    Cooler Solutions Inc. has rented Lamport Stadium from 12noon to 1pm on Wednesday’s to host an ultimate Frisbee game, and everyone is invited to play with them.  All skill levels are very welcome - even absolute beginners. Pay-what-you-can to offset the $113 rent – they suggest $5.  Bring your runners!

    The historic and romantic Academy of Spherical Arts will be set up as an indoor market where patrons will experience tastings at a variety of food & beverage stations, view extraordinary work by local artisans and entertainers in addition to participating in exciting & exhilarating activities.

    Home Suite Hope has been assisting families in need of emergency housing for over 8 years in the Halton area; where affordable housing and shelters are basically non-existent. They are an innovative initiative providing a ‘Home’ for low-income families facing homelessness or a housing crisis. Participants receive not only refuge but support and training to afford them the necessary time to stabilize their lives, gain Hope and Confidence to move forward with Dignity.

    This Sweet Hope Celebration will provide some financial support to the Red Door Family Centre which works within the Liberty Village and Parkdale area.

    There are opportunities for vendor participation as well as for guest attendance.  Vendor and sponsorship opportunities are available in all categories.

    Tickets: $75 PP includes access to the event and all food and refreshment sampling unless specifically marked i.e., rare wines, artisans, shopping, auctions and raffles or Corporate Packages: $375 for 6 tickets.
