  • Overview of the Liberty Village Master Plan 2012

    Liberty Village Master Plan 2012

Participate in Visioning Workshops - Full details below.

    ---

The Liberty Village BIA is completing a Master Plan, to shape and guide the future of our community.

Be a Part of the Vision for Canada's Premiere Work Play Live District.

    Master Plan Objectives:
To define a direction and an overall vision for the long-term enhancement and development of Liberty Village as a sustainable community to work, play and live in. The study was initiated in
June and is anticipated to conclude by October 2012.

A Master Plan presents a unique opportunity for the community to define a long-term vision to work towards. It will provide a comprehensive guide for land uses, development, building
design, circulation and improvement to streets and open spaces. In doing so, the Plan will help to chart the course for area improvements by setting priorities, amending policies, and
identifying necessary actions and investments so as to bring the vision to fruition.

The Liberty Village Master Plan will include the following:

    • •    A strategy for retention of current employment uses
    • •    Policies and regulations that support a balanced community that offers opportunities for work, play and live
    • •    A guide for the “right kind” of development, including both infill and new development
    • •    Attention to architectural design that is complementary of the historic architecture of the area
    • •    Identifying and protecting the distinct aspects of the area
    • •    Identifying and prioritizing where investment and improvements need to be made
    • •    Exploring opportunities to create unique attractions and improvements to the overall experience of the area
    • •    Improvements to connectivity and circulation, including new street connections, cycling and pedestrian opportunities
